BACKGROUND & HISTORY
The Nautilus companies were founded by Stefen Gustafson as an extension of has previous construction and consulting work, as well as his other experiences in architecture and the building industry. Prior to starting Nautilus, Mr. Gustafson co-owned Valentine Construction Inc. with a partner. Over the previous decade, Valentine was a major player in the construction repair industry in the southwestern United States, operating ten branch construction offices and up to 300 employees in the states of Arizona, California, Colorado and Nevada, and completing everything from small property maintenance assignments to $10 million reconstruction contracts. In early 2002, Mr. Gustafson sold his ownership shares in Valentine and founded Nautilus, who remains a close friend. Nautilus remains focused on the continuation of Valentine's work and experience in the Southern California and Arizona markets.
Nautilus built upon Mr. Gustafson's and his staff's previous construction experience, and has enhanced its competitive advantage by extending its competency in working in, on and around existing buildings. Nautilus has extensive experience working on occupied structures and has developed the specialized staff and techniques needed to work successfully with building residents, occupants, owners, and tenants.
